Rep. Margo McNeil, D-St. Louis County, said communication between the different parts in the education system will always cause problems, and to have one board governing all aspects of education would be ineffective compared to two separate governing boards addressing the needs of each. She also said the merger won't fix Missouri's education problems.
Rep. Margo McNeil, D-St. Louis County, supported Still's amendment. McNeil said Missouri was fourth in the nation for funding private higher education with public money and 47th in the country for public higher education funding.
"Early childhood education is critical for success in school," Rep. Margo McNeil, D-St. Louis County, said. "Cutting Parents as Teachers is absolutely the wrong direction to go."
Rep. Margo McNeil, D-St. Louis County, emphasized those with pre-existing conditions who are not covered by most insurance companies.
